Android Market



According to a research firm Canalys, Android has out emerged as the best-selling mobile phone platform across the globe. Today there are over 300 million Android devices in use. As per Google, more than 700,000 Android devices get activated worldwide every day from 21 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) on 59 carriers. Android has also achieved a major milestone by meeting 500,000 applications in October 2011 and this took just 3 years to achieve the milestone. Today Android Market is at number two app store with more than 550,000 apps exceeding Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry Industry.
Google Search engine is right behind Apple company with specialization in iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad. Customers now are having access to more than 500,000 iOS based programs via iTunes App Shop. Apple’s App Shop was out in summer 2008 and it handled to achieve the 100,000 landmark in within 16 weeks, several weeks later it obtained 1.5 billion dollars downloading.
Android Market is now available in 46 countries. Android has entered the smartphone OS industry few years back with the release of T-Mobile G1. Also it paid off with some handset makers like Sony Ericsson , Motorola and Samsung joining the bandwagon. Android has also acquired a big chunk at the market share that too within the first year of its release. Android is an open source alternative to the iPhone. Moreover thanks to the affordable cost which could be expected to surmount over many more users than Apple. Also is expected  that the Smartphone manufacturers, such as Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung and LG will use the Android platform for their new budget devices. This will help Android achieve number one status in the market.
