LG Starts Producing Flexible Displays for Smartphones

LG just declared in a press release that their display making department will start the huge production of flexible display models for smartphones, a week after rumors on track about their plans. The plastic based flexible display production will supply the high end smartphones of LGs collection and it will indicate a new era for smart phone technology.
Although LG ignored to detail a quality for the display, it does observe that the panel will evaluate 6 inches obliquely, and will be the thinnest and lightest in a smartphone up to now. As for how rounded its rounded display will be, LG says the OLED board will have a 700mm radius of curvature. That’s quite a bend — more than twice as noticeable as the curve of the Galaxy Nexus.
The flexible display is actually a panel with a film-type encapsulation in order to secure the sensitive OLED components from air and moisture. We even have a concept for a first smartphone who will bring this technological innovation, as LG stated” improved performance and different design” for the next years launch. Rumors are declaring that we might see a curved LG smart phone using this display technology beginning Nov and that the total radius from top to bottom is going to be 700 mm. In case this is real, LG is only going to confirm that flexible display is used in their collections, but they are not yet examined an extreme style as the smartphone is still going to be rigid.
